Personal Commentary

While the show floor was slightly less energetic than previous years, Gamescom 2024 still offered a great opportunity for networking, and hands-on demos.

My anticipation for Dune: Awakening is especially high. I was thoroughly impressed by how the recent films brought the classic novels to life, pairing stunning visuals with a sensory-rich soundscape crafted by Zimmer. If the game can capture even a portion of that atmosphere, it could be something truly exceptional.

As for Star Wars, I need something that truly takes me back to the legendary days of Knights of the Old Republic, The Force Unleashed, or Battlefront II. There’s real potential here, but I’m not getting my hopes up for the moment. I’m really hoping this one breaks the recent cycle. Star Wars ILYF.

This one genuinely feels worth the wait. I mean common, who doesn’t want the chance to be Batman in VR? It looks very polished; from the Easter eggs to the voice work, it all just feels thoughtfully crafted. The visuals are impressive too, especially considering it’s running standalone on a headset.
